Cardiff, Wales’ capital is situated in south Wales and is easy to reach from anywhere in the UK or overseas. The closest capital to London, Cardiff is just two hours away by rail or road and only an hour and a half’s drive away from Heathrow airport.

By Car

The M4 links Cardiff directly to London. From the midlands, the north of England and Scotland it is a straightforward drive via the M6, M5 and M50/M4. From the south and south west of England the approach is by M5 and M4. Access from west Wales is by M4.

By Train

High-speed trains link most cities around the UK with Cardiff Central Station. The journey time from London Paddington to Cardiff Central is just over two hours and leaves every 30 minutes during the day. For train times and to book tickets visit National Rail.

By Coach

Cardiff can be reached from a number of UK cities by coach through National Express and Megabus.

By Air

Cardiff Airport

Cardiff is served by its own international airport with regular direct flights from the UK and other European destinations. Located 12 miles west of Cardiff city centre, and just 10 miles from Junction 33 of the M4, Cardiff Airport is easy to access. For more information visit Cardiff Airport.

The Cardiff Bus service X91 operates between Cardiff Airport and Cardiff Central Station every two hours during the day, seven days a week. The bus journey takes approximately 35 minutes from Cardiff Central to the airport. See here for routemap and timetable visit.

Bristol Airport
